* ASON is INCREASING VALUE to its MSA CUSTOMERS! *

Effective October 1st, 2014, customers with an active Managed Service Agreement (MSA) with a Proactive Network Monitoring Addendum will receive the first 15 minutes of service addressing the issue(s) as a value added service, even when outside of their MSA coverage.

ASON will still open a proactive ticket and notify*, but ASON will now attempt to restore within 15 minutes.  If it should take longer or require an onsite visit, we will contact the customer* for approval for any further action beyond the initial 15 minutes utilizing After-Hour T&M Rates, otherwise the issue will be addressed the next business day or until term conditions are matching their MSA.  This increased value to all non-Premium MSA’s will address common or minor issues that can be addressed quickly without incurring cost on the initial 15 minutes of any Network Monitoring event.

*NOTE: If customer does not respond with direction and approval to our notifications or calls ASON will use best judgment that is beneficial and within reason to take necessary action or not take action without liability or refusal to pay After-Hour T&M Rates.  After-Hour customer contact numbers MUST be on file.

* Security Threat: POODLE ATTACK * (October 24, 2014)

At ASON we are always monitoring for security threats and vulnerabilities that affect our customer services and their IT networks.  One such example of this is a recently discovered vulnerability called POODLE with technical details of the security threat available on an Internet search.

It effects all servers hosting web services (websites, email, etc.) and will implement a patch after 10 PM on Tuesday, November 4th, 2014.  This patch however, will cause all systems running Internet Explorer 6 or older to become unable to access patched systems.  So updating your web browser for all PCs running Windows XP or newer is strongly recommended.

Also as a precaution, steps should be taken to protect all PCs from this potential attack.  Should you need help in determining if your machine(s) may have issues with this patch, please give us a call and we’ll be happy to evaluate your circumstances.  If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at 717-757-2414 opt 3.
